Digitineers® is a research-based developer and manufacturer of Digital Therapeutics (DTx), innovative active agents and a DiGA-ready production platform. The goal of Digitineers is to sustainably improve the lives of patients. To achieve this, our physicians, scientists and IT architects combine the full potential of biomedical research and digitalization with great scientific passion.

At Digitineers, the medical benefit for patients is at the centre – together with information and cyber security. State-of-the-art DTx technology and penetration tests meet the requirements of the German Federal Office for Information Security. In addition, Digitineers has implemented a certified information security system in accordance with ISO 27001.

Development of DTx software, AI and cyber security Digitineers® works with software and AI engineers to develop innovative software and AI for digital therapeutics based on Digitineers DTx architectures – with information and cyber security at the state of the art.

Preclinical research on DTx content and architecture Our experts for medical domains, medical data domains and medical software architectures carry out extensive basic and preclinical research and development. In the field of artificial intelligence, a particular challenge is to ensure error minimization in learning AI.

Clinical research on medical DTx efficacy The Medical-Scientific Department is responsible for clinical product development and clinical testing – up to randomized controlled trials (RCT) that scientifically prove the efficacy and safety of our medical devices.

Heads the Medical-Scientific Department and works as a domain expert, software architect and clinical DTx developer. Previously a long-standing university professor and medical director at a German university hospital, with extensive research leadership experience in Germany and the USA. Member of the innovation board of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Baden-Württemberg.

Degrees in economics and business administration from LMU Munich. Research associate at the Chair of Health Economics at the University of Hohenheim with a focus on the digitalization of medicine. Senior associate at a contract research organization (CRO) focusing on the development and manufacture of Digital Therapeutics.

Werner Zöllner is a founder and partner. He is also founder of the investment company SEED Karlsruhe GmbH; previously investment principal & partner of Wellington Partners GmbH, Munich. Chairman of the supervisory boards of ProteoSys AG and Valtronic Technologies (Suisse) SA, member of the boards of Panoratio Database Images GmbH, Seed Solutions and Condor Energies, Inc., and investment partner at Baden-Württemberg Connected e.V.

As compliance officer, he ensures adherence to the company’s governance. Previously a project officer at the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and officer of the ethics committee of a German university hospital – with many years of experience in the ethical and legal aspects of medicine.

Our health economics staff unit applies medical, ethical, statistical, epidemiological and economic principles to implement the digitalization of medicine in patients’ real lives – including the health-economic evaluation of new technologies such as DiGAs.
